Payment Details

This section covers information on the methods you can use to make payments on Windows Marketplace and solutions to some of the common problems faced while purchasing products from Windows Marketplace.

Payment Methods

The following credit United States credit cards are accepted at Windows Marketplace:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Discover
  • American Express

Additionally, check cards and ATM cards associated these major credit card firms are also accepted.

Note : All information is saved on secure server in an encrypted format to keep it safe.

Additional Information

  • After you make your purchase and make the payment using your credit card, your purchase will be charged to your card after the day of the purchase and will appear as MICROSOFT *MKTPLACE in the bill.
  • You may be charged sales tax that will be automatically added to orders that are shipped to Minnesota , Washington, and California.
  • When entering credit card details, you need to enter continuous numbers, without any spaces or dashes.
  • You may encounter problems making a purchase using your credit card, if your card expires or has reached its limit. If none of these two reasons are true, and you still receive an error, you will have to either contact Windows Marketplace customer support or your bank for help.

Check Seller Details

Multiple sellers, including Microsoft sell their products on Windows Marketplace. To find out the seller you choose to buy, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the digital locker page by clicking on the following link, and then sign in using your Windows Live ID.

  2. Open the Your software tab.

    This page lists the products you purchased, along with their seller names.

  3. If you click on the Get Receipt link for a purchased product, the name of the seller will be displayed on the receipt. For example, if Microsoft is the seller, Microsoft will be displayed on the generated receipt.
